Summer Time Tree Projects!

Maine is a unique place to live.  If you stop mowing your lawn trees can start growing within a season where you once had a well manicured lawn.  Trees will grow almost anywhere in the northeast.  Choosing the right trees to grow around your home is very important when it comes to longevity, color and the dreaded cleanup as your favorite tree drops branches and leaves all over your lawns.

Some trees are very short lived, messy and not very attractive in our yards.  When it comes to pruning or removal, the job can become very tricky around wires, houses and garages.  Many landowners in Maine have a chainsaw or a friend with one.  For some, this can be dangerous if they or a friend accidentally drops the tree on the house or other personal property.  It may make a great YouTube video but not when it happens to you.  Unfortunately we have heard many of these stories where the friend was over confident about felling trees and didn't have insurance

Hiring a tree service company may be more expensive than a small chainsaw from Home Depot but hiring a professional is quick, clean and they have all the right equipment.  A professional has removed thousands of trees, likely in trickier places than your tree and with no accidents.

McIntosh Forestry Services is passionate about our trees and forests.  Our skills have been tested among the best and we are still the Leading Professionals in our area.

Spring Tree Care and Projects are Arriving Fast!

Spring is arriving very quickly.  The buds on the trees are starting to swell.  Soon they will leaf out and it will be easy to see which limbs on your trees are dead.  Trees with dead or decaying wood attract insects and diseases and can be a hazard to your home and family.  They can also cause long term damage to other trees including some that may be favorites.  Care and maintenance are needed for healthy trees and forests.  Get a professional opinion if you are not sure of the extent of the issue or how to best fix the problem.

Snow and Ice Storms

Keep an eye on the trees around your home.  Snow and ice can weigh trees down causing them to break, which may damage your property or even crush a house.
